Chicago Trip !
Chicago trip talk!! Sorry for such the late response guys! This trip took a toll on me when I arrived back to New York. But lets get started!!
So most of you who are on my social media know how horrible my flight to Chicago was, but for those who did not, let me tell you a story! My flight departed from Laguardia Airport Tuesday around 7:00 am. Everything went fine, flight attendants were nice, passengers were mostly business men probably trying to make their 8:00 am meetings in the city, the usual. The closer we arrived to Chicago, the pilot tells us there is a signal issue they are trying to resolve, but everything should be fine before we land. Okay, not something you want to hear but, he reassured us it would be okay. I trusted him.
Then, the trust was lost when our pilot comes back to tell us they can not regain signal of the nose of the plane and we may have a problem landing. He also stated there would be ambulances and firefighters waiting for us at the terminal. Now I am not an expert on flying but that's not something you want to tell your passengers right before you land the plane.
In the heat of the moment, you never really know what your going to do, in this case I'm not sure why but my first instinct was to Snapchat the whole situation. I wanted to make sure this incident was documented. If I died today I wanted you see! Yeah, weird but that's me.
Long story short, we landed safely, the pilot was not able to steer the plane so we had to wait until the plane slowed down enough for it to be stopped and towed back to the proper terminal. Taking an extra hour to get us to the terminal. Of course apologies and multiple emails were given with discounts and coupons, but my life is worth more than a discounted plane ticket. So thanks United Airlines but no thanks!
Now I could say Chicago was amazing and everyone should visit and blah blah blah but honestly I wasn't a huge fan. While downtown Chicago is beautifully designed and full of tourism, the rest of Chicago is very much impoverished. I am not a politician but Chicago looks like a city that's under a lot of construction and funding is being placed in the wrong places. I actually felt a little helpless noticing the lack of after school activities or parks or even schools.
On the bright side. one of the best parts about Chicago was being able to meet up with my roommate Crystal. She's from Chicago so she showed me some places that didn't make me feel so depressed. The main reason for my trip was to help my best friend-boyfriend Brentton move to the big city ! After sight seeing and meeting some of his close friends, we booked a rental car and drove to New York. Yeah, we drove. It was my first cross country trip and I was extremely excited...until the time started to kick in. Hours and hours went by, we took turns, we took naps, we bought red bull and snacks, we played trap music...still wasn't enough to keep your mind off of how long the drive was. In total it took about 15 hours. But we made it, he's here guys! I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. Get ready for some dope visuals and photos coming your way.
